Briana York


conductor of High School Choirs

Briana Brickner-York is a Choir Director and Mezzo-Soprano from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education & Voice as well as a Master of Arts in Choral Conducting, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is currently the Director of the Penn Hills High School Choirs, where she also teaches Piano Lab and Musical Theatre courses. Additionally, she serves as Co-Director and Vocal Director for the Penn Hills High School Musical and is the sponsor of the Theatre Club. 

In addition to her work with the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus High School Singers in concert, she has also prepared PYC ensembles working in conjunction with Pittsburgh Opera. She has been serving as the Alto Section Leader with the Junior Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh for several seasons. 

As a singer, she is a Professional Core Alto with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh, where she often appears as a soloist. She appears regularly with various choral groups in the city, including Voces Solis and Pittsburgh Resonance Works.

She has appeared as a Guest Conductor for the Allegheny County Choir (SATB Group, 2024) and was the GCMEA Greene County Choir Guest Conductor (2025). As a Pittsburgh native, she considers herself very blessed to have been a member of PYC (CFC) at the very beginning of her musical training, propelling her into a fulfilling career in music today.
